The Principality of Liechtenstein officially joins the United States’ Semiquincentennial celebrations!

Ambassador Georg Sparber, along with America250’s Executive Vice President Jennifer Condon, signed a Memorandum of Understanding that formalizes a framework for cooperation between Liechtenstein and the United States as part of the America 250 initiative.

As the United States commemorates 250 years of the Declaration of Independence, signed on the Fourth of July, 1776, the MOU will support initiatives to celebrate US-Liechtenstein relations, the deep historical and cultural ties between the two nations, as well as the many partnerships that have grown between them.

The US Semiquincentennial Commission was established by Congress in 2016 to plan and orchestrate the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence. Appointed by the House and Senate leadership of both parties, the nonpartisan Commission is composed of 16 private citizens, 4 US Representatives and 4 Senators, as well as 12 Ex Officio members from all three branches of the federal government and its independent agencies.
