Senior US Congressional Staff Visit Liechtenstein
From May 25-28 a bipartisan group of senior congressional staff from the House and Senate visited Liechtenstein. The annual trip, which has been going on since 2009 under the US Mutual Educational and Cultural Exchange Act (MECEA), focuses on Liechtenstein-US bilateral relations and aims to foster continued partnerships and advancing mutual interests.

The group visited Vaduz Castle and was received by H.S.H. Hereditary Prince Alois of Liechtenstein, and attended a dinner hosted by Deputy Prime Minister Sabine Monauni. They were also able to meet with top officials and government experts to discuss topics including foreign policy and national security.
The group also met with public and private business leaders and toured small and large Liechtenstein companies that are part of the robust and diversified bilateral trade network with the US in manufactured goods. Liechtenstein products are key to US supply chains in areas such as construction, dental, automotive and more. Against the country's total population of 40,000, Liechtenstein companies provide 7000 jobs in the US and are working with local communities to develop vocational training programs to fill their many highly-skilled and highly-paid US jobs.
The group also had the opportunity to visit cultural and historical sites.
The group discussed foreign policy with Deputy Prime Minister Sabine Monauni.
